This summer’s Fancy Food Show was the largest one ever, with more than 2,700 companies and 80 countries represented. Here are my favorite finds…


Coconut Cashew Butter from The 3 Nuts is a cashew nut butter with the flavor of coconut. Use it instead of peanut butter in a sandwich. $10 for an eight-ounce jar.

P 08 Maca Maple Cashews NonWeb-copyMaca Maple Superfood+ Cashews by Navitas Naturals are cashews with a praline coating made from maple syrup and maca powder. Maca, a root that belongs to the radish family, grows in the foothills of Peru. The result is a tasty, sweet snack. $6.99 for a four-ounce package.


P 08 3z AgaveQuinoaSesameAgave Quinoa Sesame Chocolate Bar by Jcoco Chocolates. Quinoa, a superfood high in protein, is puffed and coated with blue agave, mixed with toasted sesame seeds and added to chocolate for a sweet and salty flavor. $7.95 for three one-ounce bars, $2.50 for a one-ounce bar.

Smoked Chocolate Chips by Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery. The smoked flavor enriches the chocolate. Use in chocolate chip cookies, or sprinkle on ice cream. $15 for a seven-ounce jar.


Perky Jerky is made from top round beef or turkey breast. Unlike many jerky products, the meat is soft and there are no nitrates, preservatives or added MSG. $4.99 for 2.2 ounces.

P 08 porkthingsSmall-Single-2Pork Clouds by Bacon’s Heir has reinvented the salt-cured pork rind. It is made by melting the fat off pork skins and then frying them in olive oil and seasonings. They’re a light, crisp snack that can be used for scooping dips or as croutons on a salad. $12 for six 0.7-ounce bags.


Fancy-Food-7-14-cauliflowerCauliflower Mousse by Aux Delices des Bois is a creamy, sliceable mousse made with a mixture of cauliflower, carrots, haricots verts, red pepper, butternut squash, caramelized onions, herbs and Provolone cheese. Serve with crackers. $7.99 for five ounces.

P 08 TripleAleOnionSavorySpreadsofiTriple Ale Onion Savory Spread from Wozz! Kitchen Creations is sweet and savory. It’s made with ­artisan ale and caramelized onions. Great on crackers or sandwiches. $10 for a 13-ounce jar.

P 08 siracha-horseradish-sauce001Sriracha Horseradish Sauce by Terrapin Ridge Farms adds horseradish to the traditional spicy red sriracha sauce for an extra punch. Sriracha is made from a paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar and other spices. Use the sauce on sandwiches, in potato salad and coleslaw, and to add zing to tuna salad. $8 for an eight-ounce jar. ­
