Robert N. Butler, MD, a professor of geriatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He is also president and chief executive officer of the International Longevity Center-USA (www.ilcusa.org), a nonprofit research, policy and education organization. Dr. Butler is the author of Why Survive? Being Old in America (Johns Hopkins), which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1976.
