Trained in neurobiology, Dr. Adler conducted research and taught at Williams College and served as an editor at the journal Science Signaling and executive editor at The Journal of General Physiology. Following her own diagnoses with lymphoma and breast cancer, she shifted her focus from science research to science communication and cancer advocacy.
