Bruce Ames, PhD, professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of California, Berkeley, and a senior scientist at the Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute. Dr. Ames has published more than 540 scientific articles, including many on the role of mitochondria in health and aging. He is the winner of several major awards, including the US National Medal of Science, the Linus Pauling Institute Prize for Health Research and the Japan Prize.
