Anne Carol Goldberg, MD, an associate professor of medicine in the division of endocrinology, metabolism and lipid research at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. A former president of the National Lipid Association, she has participated in numerous clinical trials involving the use of lipid-modifying agents, including the Lipid Research Clinic Coronary Primary Prevention Trial, which was one of the first to show that lowering blood cholesterol levels decreases risk for coronary artery disease.
