Recent finding: People who thought about casual sex with someone they did not love did better on a test filled with analytical questions and worse on a creativity test. People who thought about taking a long, loving walk with their partner were more creative and less analytical. Possible reason: Love is a broad, long-term emotion that may help people make big-picture associations and connect differing ideas. Sex is more intensely connected to a focus on details.
