Ming-Chih Kao, PhD, MD, is faculty at the Stanford Pain Management Center, Stanford University, Stanford, Calif. He studied molecular biology and psychology at the University of California Berkeley, earned a PhD from Harvard University, pursued medical training at the University of Michigan, and completed his internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is board certified in pain medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
