Stuart M. ­Phillips, PhD, professor, department of ­kinesiology and Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine, McMaster University, Ontario, Canada. He is director of the McMaster Centre for Nutrition, Exercise and Health Research and a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American College of Nutrition. His scientific papers have been published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise and other leading journals.
