Michael Frankel, MD, professor of neurology at Emory University School of Medicine, and chief of neurology and director of the Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center at Grady Memorial Hospital, both in Atlanta. His team played a major role in the DAWN trial, published in The New England Journal of Medicine in January 2018. This study provided critically important data showing the benefit of thrombectomy within 24 hours of stroke onset.
