Lydia Wilen, besides being a lifelong puzzler, is a folk-remedy expert and home tipster based in New York City. She has spent decades collecting “cures from the cupboard” and is coauthor of several books, with her sister Joan Wilen, including Secret Food Cures and Household Magic.
