Sarah Hiner Speaks to Blind Athlete and Wine Expert Amy Dixon

Amy Dixon was a 22-year-old college student on her way to becoming a pharmacist when she was diagnosed with a blinding autoimmune condition. Instead of crumbling, she changed her career path and is now a paratriathlete on her way to the 2016 Special Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

If you’re struggling with depression, illness, weight injury or trauma, Amy’s story is a tremendous lesson in resilience. Her fighting spirit and the rich life she created in the face of her life-altering diagnosis is an inspiration to us all.
