In this video, Dr. Andrew Rubman, naturopathic physician and author of Bottom Line’s “Nature Doc’s Patient Diary” blog, explains his top immune-boosting strategies to avoid colds and flu. Vitamin C is crucial, but Dr. Rubman recommends getting more of this vitamin through a healthy diet, not simply relying on a pill. In addition, lomatium isolate is an effective, broad-spectrum antiviral. The trace mineral geranium-132 improves overall immune function. Larix, made from tree bark, also can be beneficial. Finally, Dr. Rubman suggests routinely taking multivitamin supplements and eating a healthy diet to strengthen and support your immune system…and adding additional supplements when actively fighting an illness. Be sure to consult your doctor about all the vitamins and supplements you take.
