Ice the nerve fibers respon­sible for hiccups. Find your Adam’s apple—for women, this is about two inches below the chin. Then move your finger to the back of your neck and locate the top protruding bone at the base of your neck just above your clavicle. Apply ice cubes to each side of the neck at these points at the same time, until the hiccupping stops. See your doctor if hiccups last more than 48 hours.
